BMC (FB709/01) Air Filter

Vehicle air filters, such as those in cars and motorcycles, need to have a particle filtration efficiency of at least 10 microns to prevent foreign objects from damaging the intake system's mechanical components, such as the Air Flow Sensors, injectors, valves, and segments. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) air filters are typically made of paper and primarily serve to protect the engine. However, these filters reduce air flow, which lowers inlet pressure and hampers engine performance.

In contrast, BMC air filters offer significantly improved air flow. Moreover, unlike conventional paper filters that need to be replaced during maintenance, BMC air filters are reusable and have the same lifespan as the vehicle itself. While synthetic filters are also available on the market, BMC has only produced them for non-road applications. The key difference between BMC's oiled cotton filters and filters made of synthetic material, such as plastic canvas, lies in their effectiveness in stopping impurities. Synthetic filters allow particles smaller than the micro-filter material size to pass through, while only stopping particles larger than the hole size. On the other hand, cotton filters have a more porous structure, allowing for a higher air flow. By combining different layers of oil-treated cotton, BMC filters can effectively stop impurities as small as 7 microns. This makes them superior in terms of filtration and performance.

BMC Filters are manufactured using the "Full Moulding" process, developed by the BMC F1 R&D team. This ensures their high quality and durability.

BMC air filters are specifically designed and produced to provide greater air flow compared to OEM filters. The filter material consists of a special cotton gauze, soaked with a low-viscosity oil, which allows for optimal air permeability. These filters can be washed and reused, making them ideal for high-performance applications.
